BENAZIR BHUTTO SHAHEED YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

Concept:

Youth development is an approach that recognizes youth as resource in growth & transformation of communities, society and ultimately country and looks to them as partners in creating a framework for developing and implementing successful programs best suited for the nations. The government of Sindh recognizing the plight of jobless semiliterate and educated youth of Sindh has decided to launch a program to train 100,000 youth (aged 20-35 years) through out the Province and impart them employable skills. In this regard the Government of Sindh has taken a major initiative, titled in the name of Shaheed Rani the daughter of east as “Benazir Buttho shaheed youth Development Program”. The program is designed to take in hand the issues of Poverty and Unemployment through Human Resource Development in the province. The program is intended to provide skill development to semi-literates and educated unemployed youth in Sindh out of which 7700 trainees are trained in Technical/ Vocational/ Apprenticeship Training Centers working under Directorate of Manpower and Training Labour Department Sindh. Sindh is facing a growing youth unemployment crises. The people are facing menace of unemployment and sustainable jobs. The unemployed youth will be presented a range of skill development opportunities and job leaning certification courses of duration varying between six to twelve months for raising their employability in local and international job market. The human resource development through skilled trainings in the occupational trades shall create farward linkages for employment and hence will help to improve the socio-economic conditions of common citizens. In the long run this will also help to enhance the public and private sector business efficiency by passing on a well-placed, developed and skilled workforce.
